Updated 04-04-07

Incorrect Fuse Installed:

Some Radio/Power Interface Units have been fitted with an incorrect fuse during manufacture which is rated at only 500 mAmp (0.5 Amp).

In most instances the incorrect fuse will blow the first time that the radio is used to transmit; however, it is possible that the fuse may remain intact and blow at a later point in time which would create a reliability issue.

Equipment Affected:

Micro System Radio/Power Interface Unit (All Types)

Date of Manufacture:

Radio/Power Interface Units manufactured between January 2007 and March 2007 may be affected.

Rectification:

The Radio/Power Interface Unit is supplied with a Fixing Kit of parts which includes two spare fuses. The fuses supplied in all fixing kits are the correct value.

All distributors, who have Radio/Power Interface Units in stock, should check the fuse value and replace any incorrect fuses (500 mAmp) with a correct fuse (1.5 Amp) from the fixing kit.

All customers, who have purchased Radio/Power Interface Units during the first quarter of 2007, should check the fuse value and replace an incorrect fuse (500 mAmp) with a correct fuse (1.5 Amp) from the fixing kit.

Additional Information:

This problem only affects Radio/Power Interface units manufactured and supplied during the first quarter of 2007.

Additional information or technical advice may be obtained directly from Lynx Avionics Ltd.
