Press Release

Improved Visor Extension – 1st September 2007

Lynx Avionics has introduced a new and improved Visor Extension for use with Helmet Visors on its range of aviation helmets.

The Visor Extension is now injection moulded from the same Polycarbonate material as the helmets and replaces the previous version which was manufactured from composite (Glass Reinforced Plastic). The new Polycarbonate moulding offers several advantages over composite construction and, in particular, does not have a gel coat which can crack or chip around the edges. In addition, manufacturing the Visor Extension in an injection mould tool produces a much more accurate and consistent moulding than can be achieved in composite.

The Visor Extension is normally supplied factory fitted to a Helmet Visor but is also available as a spare part for retrofitting to Lynx Helmet Visors by users. The introduction of the new Visor Extension completes the new Helmet and Visor System introduced in December 2006.
